Martin Masser, who spent years building the TON network, just joined ChangeNOW as Director of Strategic Partnerships. The move signals the platform is moving beyond swapping and trading into something messier: a single app where users don't have to jump between five different services to move their money around.
Right now crypto still feels like a construction site. You buy on one exchange, send to a wallet, swap on another platform, check prices on a third. ChangeNOW's bet is that users are tired of this. The infrastructure exists. What doesn't is the glue.
Why This Hire Matters
Masser's job isn't to announce partnerships. It's to find the right ones. He'll spend time connecting blockchain networks, wallet providers, payment companies and fintech builders to ChangeNOW's stack. The goal is to reduce friction fewer clicks, fewer platform switches, fewer moments where a user gets confused about which network they're on.
Pauline Shangett, ChangeNOW's Chief Strategy Officer, put it plainly: "He knows what the technology can do, what the business needs and how to make the market pay attention." Masser's background in traditional banking plus Web3 means he understands both what enterprise clients need and how to talk about it to people who still think crypto is just Bitcoin.
What's Actually Changing
ChangeNOW is building two products now. For consumers, it's consolidating the basic moves: buying, storing, swapping, trading, sending and receiving assets in one place. For businesses, it's payment rails, stablecoin settlement and Web3 integrations bundled together. The super app strategy works only if the pieces actually fit. That's where Masser comes in.
Masser said it himself: partnerships should create access and adoption. He's not interested in press releases. He wants relationships that make the product simpler and more useful. If you're building wallets, networks, payments infrastructure or consumer crypto products, he wants to talk to you.
The market for unified crypto platforms is crowded. MetaMask, Coinbase, Kraken all offer similar bundles. ChangeNOW's angle is that it's starting fresh without the baggage of legacy systems. Whether Masser can pull enough partners into one ecosystem fast enough will determine if this strategy works.
