Securitize just took a big step in the tokenization world. On July 27, 2026, its subsidiary Securitize Capital LLC officially registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as an investment adviser. This new status gives Securitize a rare edge: it now operates four regulated services all under one roof.
Before this, Securitize already had three regulated components in its U.S. platform. These were an SEC-registered broker-dealer running an Alternative Trading System, an SEC-approved transfer agent, and fund administration services. Adding the investment adviser registration creates a full package that few in the industry can match, especially for tokenized assets.
This isn’t just about meeting regulatory requirements. With the investment adviser license, Securitize can work directly with asset managers and institutional investors on tokenized investment strategies. Such engagement was limited before without this formal registration. Institutional players want more than just technology they look for trusted, regulated partners to navigate onchain finance.
CEO Carlos Domingo explained that this move helps institutions build complex onchain investment plans with confidence. The timing is notable: Securitize went public recently on July 2, 2026, under ticker SECZ, via a SPAC deal with Cantor Equity Partners II. This expansion fits a broader push among big players like Coinbase, Kraken, and Galaxy Digital, all moving to offer SEC-registered investment advisory services.
Institutional investors typically prefer dealing with entities that can cover multiple roles at once: advising on investments, handling trading infrastructure, maintaining asset records, and managing funds. Securitize’s full regulated stack means these services are integrated, reducing friction and boosting trust.
The company’s position is growing quickly. It already partners with big names in asset management like BlackRock and Apollo. This new compliance milestone could help it deepen those relationships and attract more institutional capital eager to explore tokenized products.
