AFC Bournemouth has finalized a deal to bring Juanlu Sánchez to the Premier League, agreeing to pay Sevilla €11 million upfront with an additional €2 million in performance bonuses. The 22-year-old Spanish right-back stood out among top European clubs, with Roma, Juventus, and Bayer Leverkusen all reportedly interested before Bournemouth sealed the transfer.
Sánchez joined Sevilla in 2022 and is contracted until 2029. Known for his defensive prowess and potential, he has also represented Spain at the U21 level. This signing is a clear move in Bournemouth’s ongoing effort to strengthen their defense ahead of the 2026-27 season, highlighting a strategic rebuild rather than a one-off acquisition.
Competitive Transfer Market
Despite a market value near €10 million, Bournemouth paid a premium to secure Sánchez. The deal still awaits finalization of personal terms, but with strong interest already settled between clubs, this is expected to be a formality. This transfer reflects Bournemouth’s ambition to compete at a higher level by locking down promising talent in a crowded field.
