Anthropic just launched Claude Design, an AI-powered tool that can analyze any live website URL and extract its entire design system. The AI pulls media elements, color palettes, typography, spacing, and reusable components to rebuild the site’s visual identity from scratch.

Built on Anthropic’s Claude Opus 4.7 model, Claude Design is now available to Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users through claude.ai/design. Beyond just extracting assets, it organizes these elements into a coherent, reusable framework. Users can then effortlessly create prototypes, mockups, or landing pages that preserve brand consistency all without needing design software knowledge or manual tweaks.

In addition to website URLs, Claude Design processes Figma files, PDFs, and even source code repositories, with a June 2026 update enabling the extraction of design systems directly from GitHub projects. That update also introduced enterprise-grade controls and bi-directional integration with Claude Code, Anthropic’s coding assistant, streamlining the handoff between designers and developers.

Democratizing Design for Non-Experts

Anthropic targets non-designers such as founders, product managers, and marketing teams who previously struggled to replicate professional design without specialist tools. The $60 billion design software market is polarized Figma dominates professional workflows, while Canva appeals to quick, casual users. Claude Design aims to bridge this gap by making advanced design extraction and generation accessible to anyone with an Anthropic subscription.

Community feedback has been cautiously optimistic, highlighting how startups can now scan competitors’ sites and spin up branded prototypes in minutes.
