ZeroStack, the Nasdaq-listed crypto treasury firm formerly known as Flora Growth, revealed a grim financial outlook in a recent SEC filing on August 3, 2026. The company reported a staggering $82.5 million fair value loss on its digital assets during the first half of the year, pushing its accumulated deficit to $339.1 million and raising doubts about its ability to continue operations beyond 2026.
At the heart of ZeroStack’s troubles lies its massive holding of 75.1 million Zero Gravity (0G) tokens. Once recorded at a cost of $163.3 million, the value of these tokens has collapsed to just $15.2 million as of June 30, marking a 91% drop. This sharp decline turned what was once a cornerstone of the company’s treasury strategy into a severe liability almost overnight.
Despite previously projecting that cash reserves and staking rewards would cover working capital for at least a year, ZeroStack now holds only $2.6 million in cash and faces negative working capital of $600,000. The company posted a net loss of $61.3 million in the first half of 2026, a dramatic reversal from the optimism it expressed in its first quarter filings.
Financial Challenges Mount
ZeroStack’s reliance on a thinly traded token like 0G highlights the risks of concentrated crypto asset strategies. The company’s faltering position follows a broader market trend of volatility and asset markdowns. This situation echoes the challenges faced by several crypto firms navigating turbulent market conditions and regulatory scrutiny.
