OSL has officially launched retail trading for Ripple’s XRP, marking the first time a platform licensed by Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission allows everyday investors direct access to XRP spot trading. This move, effective July 29, 2026, positions XRP alongside Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana as the only crypto assets approved for retail trading on the venue.
Through OSL’s platform, traders can execute Flash Trades or engage in over-the-counter (OTC) transactions paired with USD and HKD, expanding options for more flexible market participation. Industry observers note that this expansion could trigger increased liquidity for XRP, particularly as XRP spot ETFs recently reached cumulative inflows of $1.49 billion, reflecting growing institutional interest.
New Retail Gateway for XRP Shakes Up Hong Kong Crypto Scene
By opening regulated doors to retail investors, OSL challenges the typical barrier that limits many digital assets to institutional or accredited participants. According to sources familiar with the launch, this development is expected to create new momentum for XRP’s adoption within the region, especially amid rising global scrutiny and regulatory focus on crypto markets.
The timing also coincides with broader shifts in crypto trading, including changes in exchange offerings and token approvals. As XRP steps alongside BTC, ETH, and SOL under OSL’s retail license, investors in Hong Kong gain a diversified set of options previously unavailable on local, regulated platforms.
