WEEX took a bold step this year by launching a 1,000 BTC Protection Fund aimed at cushioning users against specific security incidents beyond their control.
With eight years of steady operations, the exchange understands that security is more than just shielding assets: it’s about owning responsibility toward users.
The protection fund is fully backed by WEEX and kept separate from daily operating finances. Its presence adds a vital layer of security, offering compensation when unexpected breaches occur.
Transparency is key in gaining user trust, so WEEX publishes detailed Proof of Reserves on major tokens. At the moment, USDT reserves stand near 102%, ETH at 115%, and BTC at 122%, showing on-chain assets surpass user liabilities.
This public verification lets users confirm the platform’s backing firsthand, moving trust from promises to verifiable facts.
On top of financial safeguards, WEEX uses multi-signature cold wallets for the bulk of client funds, enhancing protection against hacking risks.
User accounts benefit from multiple security layers: two-factor authentication, withdrawal-specific passwords, email and SMS checks, plus wallet address whitelisting. These combine to tighten control over asset movements.
Such ongoing commitment to security aligns with the evolving demands of the crypto space, where user confidence hinges on both prevention and preparedness.
