Samsung announced it will add stablecoin functionality to Samsung Wallet, aiming to extend the app’s capabilities beyond traditional payments and rewards. The upcoming feature plans to let users transfer digital value directly from their smartphones.

The company revealed this plan during its Galaxy Unpacked event but has yet to share specifics about which stablecoins will be supported, when the update will launch, or which partners are involved. Samsung’s product manager Lee Dinham emphasized that the Wallet will expand from just cash and savings to embrace stablecoins natively, marking a significant step toward integrating blockchain technology into everyday mobile usage.

This move builds on Samsung’s ongoing crypto strategy. In October 2025, it widened its collaboration with Coinbase, allowing over 75 million Galaxy users in the US to buy cryptocurrencies within the Wallet app. This partnership aims to make digital assets more accessible and has been paired with promotional offers, like free subscription trials and trading incentives for new users.

Samsung Wallet already manages payment cards, digital IDs, and reward programs, signaling the company’s intent to create a one-stop digital ecosystem. However, technical details about the stablecoin integration, such as supported blockchains or regional availability, remain undisclosed.
