Robeco Institutional Asset Management quietly increased its stake in Strategy Inc during Q2 2026, adding 13,291 shares and pushing its total holdings to 133,755. This adjustment represents an 11% rise from the previous quarter, according to a 13F filing submitted at the end of July.
At June 30, the shares were valued at around $11.63 million. Though this is a small portion of Robeco’s portfolio, which spans hundreds of billions in assets, the move indicates growing confidence in Strategy Inc’s position as the largest corporate Bitcoin holder.
Strategy reported holding 818,334 Bitcoin as of May 3, marking a 22% increase in its Bitcoin reserves year-to-date. The company continues shifting from its original software roots, now branding itself as a "Bitcoin Treasury Company." This evolution reflects a broader trend among institutional investors who are closely tracking Bitcoin's price and the associated market dynamics.
Institutional Trends and Market Impact
While Q1 2026 saw large asset managers adjusting their exposure to Strategy Inc amid market volatility, Robeco’s decision to increase its stake in Q2 suggests resilience amid uncertainty. With Strategy’s stock price closely linked to Bitcoin’s market performance, more institutional interest can elevate the stock’s premium relative to its Bitcoin net asset value. This effect may make it easier for Strategy to raise capital, acquire additional Bitcoin, and draw further institutional support, creating a reinforcing cycle.
Robeco, based in Rotterdam, is required by the 13F system to disclose holdings quarterly if assets under management exceed $100 million. Interestingly, Robeco’s increased position went largely unnoticed by major cryptocurrency media before it surfaced on social channels.
The steady flow of institutional investments into Bitcoin-related firms like Strategy also ties into broader market movements, not unlike those seen during the Fed’s recent decisions to hold interest rates steady, which stirred mixed reactions in the crypto space. Such developments shows the intertwined fate of traditional finance and digital assets.
