Newsmax has entered into a commercial agreement with Meta to license its content for the tech giant’s AI systems. This deal makes the conservative news outlet part of Meta’s expanding roster of publishers whose materials help train and fuel its AI assistant’s responses, especially on breaking news and current events.

Meta revealed its program to license content from various news outlets back in December 2025. Alongside Newsmax, other participants include CNN, Fox News, Le Monde Group, People Inc., USA TODAY, The Daily Caller, and the Washington Examiner. The AI pulls from these licensed sources when users inquire about topics ranging from politics and entertainment to lifestyle, providing answers that link directly back to the original articles. This setup aims to boost traffic to the news sites while enhancing Meta AI’s accuracy and relevance.

Building a Balanced Media Base for AI

Meta’s strategy carefully incorporates publishers across the political spectrum to avoid accusations of ideological bias. This effort aligns with moves by other major AI players: OpenAI, for example, has deals with the Associated Press and Axel Springer, while Google licenses content for its AI overviews. Meta’s aggressive expansion in this space signals its intent to establish a strong, diverse content foundation for its AI products. Investors tracking AI’s influence on media and fintech sectors will find these partnerships significant as they shape how real-time information is accessed and monetized.
