BitMEX just shut down, and now its founders face fresh legal trouble. Arthur Hayes, along with Samuel Reed and Ben Delo, are named in a new class action lawsuit filed by plaintiffs BKX Services and David Namdar. The suit accuses BitMEX of secretly trading against its own users through an internal trading desk.

The action arrives only a day after the crypto derivatives platform ceased operations, adding pressure on the embattled exchange and its leadership. The plaintiffs claim significant combined losses caused by these alleged internal trades, which could reshape ongoing scrutiny of crypto exchanges’ transparency.
