On July 27, Michael Saylor's company, Strategy, paused its usual Bitcoin acquisitions, focusing instead on bolstering its cash holdings.
Strategy, known for buying Bitcoin weekly, has not increased its Bitcoin stash in over four weeks. Instead, it has pumped $525 million into its U.S. dollar reserves.
This move brought the company’s total cash to $3.75 billion, a figure that now covers about 2.1 years of dividend payments. This shift aims to ease concerns over Strategy's liquidity amid criticism of its stock dilution approach.
Despite the halt in buying, Strategy still owns 843,775 BTC, maintaining its status as the largest publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holder.
The company’s decision to expand cash reserves rather than Bitcoin holdings signals an emphasis on sustaining dividend payouts during volatile market conditions.
