Marvell Technology is expanding its presence in India, injecting $250 million into its Bangalore campus to transform it into a key AI development center. This move signals the chipmaker’s commitment to strengthening its foothold in AI data center infrastructure globally.
The Bangalore facility has long been Marvell’s primary hub in India, acting as the nerve center for product development. Recently, the campus grew to encompass about 100,000 square feet, and the company’s operations now cover multiple cities. Beyond Bangalore, Marvell runs sites in Hyderabad focused on data center security and in Pune, specializing in networking.
Expanding Workforce and Strategic Partnerships
As of late 2025, Marvell’s Indian workforce numbered around 1,700 employees, with ambitious plans to grow by 15% annually for the next three years, concentrating mainly on AI and data center projects. Growth in headcount reflects the company’s broader strategy to dominate AI infrastructure, including its recent acquisition of XConn Technologies, which enhances chiplet interconnect capabilities, and a collaboration with Nvidia that deepens its role in AI data center ecosystems.
Marvell’s focus isn’t on competing directly with GPU giants or AI model training. Instead, it’s building the key networking and custom silicon that keeps AI data centers running efficiently. The company’s expansion in Bangalore and planned workforce growth underline the confident outlook for AI-related revenue streams in India.
