Hyperscale Data moved quickly, selling about 100 Bitcoin to fund its Michigan AI data center campus. The transaction, valued at roughly $6.48 million based on Thursday’s Bitcoin price of $64,823, injects fresh capital into the company's large-scale infrastructure project.
The company’s Bitcoin holdings previously stood near $71 million, accumulated through ongoing mining and treasury activities. Now, management aims to strike a balance between holding Bitcoin and investing in high-return projects, focusing on accelerating the buildout and equipment acquisition for the Michigan site.
Long-Term AI Computing Contract Drives Growth
The Michigan campus will initially provide around 20 megawatts of AI computing power under a 10-year contract with a leading neo-cloud infrastructure provider. This deal, including two optional five-year extensions, has the potential to generate more than $1.2 billion in revenue. The customer also retains rights to add another 32 megawatts within two years. Exercising that option and maintaining the full term could push total contract value beyond $3 billion.
Funds from the Bitcoin sale will support key infrastructure elements such as site development and equipment procurement. This financial move backs Hyperscale Data’s goal of creating a recurring revenue stream through its data center services.
Meanwhile, the company also has access to a Bitcoin-backed credit line providing financing at expected rates between 4.5% and 5%, an alternative that complements its mixed funding strategy. The market responded positively to the sale news, with GPUS stock climbing 5.5% to $0.1208 after initial volatility.
