Gemini has taken a bold step by unveiling a new public API that grants unrestricted access to its prediction market trading volumes. Anyone with internet access can now query data sorted by category, available hourly or daily in UTC, without needing an account or API key. This move promises to fuel innovation and transparency in the prediction market space.
How the API Works and What It Offers
Launched on July 30, 2026, the REST API endpoint requires no authentication. This means developers, researchers, or curious traders can instantly pull volume data without any barriers. The data includes detailed breakdowns by category, helping to track trends and liquidity across various prediction markets hosted on Gemini’s platform.
Gemini Predictions began its journey in December 2025 as a CFTC-approved Designated Contract Market, operating nationwide in the U.S. from day one. It provides a regulated alternative to traditional futures exchanges, making this publicly accessible API significant for anyone analyzing the sector.
Growth and Recent Developments in Gemini Predictions
The product has seen impressive traction, crossing $24 million in total trading volume and attracting over 10,000 active users by mid-2026. April was a standout month with a 78% increase in trading volume compared to March. The platform has also surpassed 100 million contracts traded since launch.
In the first quarter of 2026, Gemini’s overall revenue hit $50.3 million, a 42% year-over-year rise. The prediction market contributed around $400,000 to that figure, drawing more than 20,000 users in the three-month period. Recent API updates in July introduced batch-order functionality and new event categories like FIFA World Cup contracts, improving usability for algorithmic traders and market makers.
