“We acted immediately to secure our systems and launched a full investigation,” said Operation PAR after discovering hackers accessed sensitive patient information. The Florida-based substance use disorder treatment provider revealed that the breach potentially exposed personal details of 145,714 individuals, including Social Security numbers, medical records, and financial data.
The intrusion reportedly occurred between June 6 and June 10, 2025, when an unauthorized party infiltrated their network and extracted files containing highly confidential data. Operation PAR worked alongside external cybersecurity experts to identify the scope and prevent further damage. Despite the severity, so far there is no evidence that the stolen information has been misused for identity theft or fraud.
Patients received notification letters promptly, with the company offering credit monitoring services via Epiq to mitigate risks. This incident highlights ongoing vulnerabilities in healthcare cybersecurity, a sector increasingly targeted by hackers due to the value of personal health information.
