Ethereum surged 20.3% in July, marking its best monthly rally in a year. This gain nearly wiped out most of June’s 21.8% drop, signaling renewed investor interest despite a challenging first half of 2026.
Even though July’s boost exceeded the average monthly increase for ETH usually just 10.7% for the month the coin still ended the month below $1,900. Spot ETFs played a key role in the rebound. Daily net inflows reached $13.29 million by month's end, while assets under Ethereum Spot ETFs hit $10.52 billion, showing solid backing from institutional participants. Some sessions experienced outflows, but buyers quickly stepped back in.
Ethereum’s momentum cooled as derivatives traders pulled back, with open interest falling to $11.46 billion. Funding rates showed slight optimism at 0.0024%, but long positions held only a narrow edge. Now, ETH faces a key test: reclaim the $1,900 level to seriously challenge the $2,000 mark. Without that, price action could linger sideways or slip further.
