Ethereum's miner transfers to Binance, a major exchange, have dropped to levels not seen in nearly a year, signaling reduced selling pressure from miners. This shift could help stabilize ETH's price, which has been hovering just under the key $2,000 resistance mark after bouncing back from a June low near $1,550.
Decline in Miner Transfers Suggests Less Immediate Supply
Data from CryptoQuant highlights a significant dip in the volume of Ethereum miners sending coins to Binance. These transfers are important because miners often sell their rewards on exchanges, increasing supply and potentially weighing on prices. The recent decline followed a brief spike in June but has since returned close to baseline levels by late July. With fewer ETH tokens hitting the exchange market from miners, selling pressure has eased, reducing the immediate inflow of new supply and potentially allowing prices to hold steady even amid modest demand.
Price Action Near Key Resistance Shows Cautious Momentum
Ethereum traded near $1,929 recently, up slightly by 0.17% on the daily chart. Since the June low around $1,550, ETH has formed a series of higher lows, suggesting a gradual recovery. Yet, it remains capped below the psychological $2,000 level, which continues to act as a significant resistance zone. Technical indicators reveal a cautious market stance. The MACD histogram is positive but narrow, indicating mild bullish momentum without significant strength behind buyers. Similarly, the RSI is at 58.91, safely above neutral but far from overbought territory. This balance points to steady but limited upside potential unless a larger catalyst emerges.
Institutional interest could be that catalyst. Currently, the market benefits from lower selling by miners, but weak demand keeps Ethereum's price range-bound. A fresh wave of institutional buying might push ETH above $2,000, opening paths toward $2,050 and $2,100. Until then, miners' reduced activity on Binance somewhat cushions the market from downside risks.
