"This move gives our customers more freedom in how they pay," said Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, highlighting the airline’s push to embrace digital payment methods. Emirates has integrated Crypto.com Pay, allowing UAE residents to book flights directly using cryptocurrency through its website and app.

Users holding Crypto.com accounts can now select Crypto.com Pay at checkout when reserving flights on emirates.com or the Emirates mobile app. Payments are processed in UAE Dirham (AED) and comply with local regulations. On mobile devices, customers complete payments by switching to the Crypto.com app before returning to Emirates for confirmation. Desktop users approve transactions by scanning a QR code during checkout.

This rollout follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Emirates and Crypto.com in July 2025, aiming to broaden payment options for a digitally native audience. While currently limited to UAE residents, the initiative reflects a growing trend of major companies adopting crypto payments to reach new customer segments. It arrives amid increasing interest in crypto-friendly services worldwide.

Integrating crypto payments marks a significant step for Emirates, one of the largest airlines in the Gulf region. The airline’s commitment to evolving its payment systems comes at a time when other sectors, including finance and blockchain, are also expanding rapidly. For example, Visa recently boosted its revenue through stablecoin and blockchain initiatives, signaling broader acceptance of crypto technologies in mainstream markets.
