Coinbase delisted six altcoin trading pairs effective August 6, 2026. The move affects LSETH-ETH, MINA-EUR, GRT-GBP, MASK-GBP, CHZ-USDT, and CRO-USDT pairs across its platforms. The exchange cited improved market health and concentrated liquidity as reasons, though it stopped short of explaining which coins drove the decision or what triggered the timing.

The affected assets themselves remain supported on Coinbase. Users in eligible regions can still trade them through dollar-denominated order books on Coinbase Advanced Trade. What's gone is the specific currency pair routing, not the underlying coins. MINA-EUR, GRT-GBP, MASK-GBP, CHZ-USDT, and CRO-USDT already switched to limit-order-only mode on Coinbase Exchange and Advanced platforms, blocking market orders while allowing users to create limit orders and cancel existing ones.

What traders can still do

The limit-order-only restriction lets traders set exact prices and wait for matching at those levels. Market orders, which execute immediately at available prices, won't work for these pairs anymore. Dollar-denominated pairs remain a workaround for those needing instant execution or access to these coins. For most retail users, the practical impact depends on whether they rely on quick entry and exit through these specific pairs or can shift to dollar routes.

Exchange liquidity consolidation is standard practice. Removing low-volume pairs reduces infrastructure costs and focuses market makers on thicker order books. Coinbase has trimmed pairs before without major market disruption. Holders of MINA, GRT, MASK, CHZ, and CRO aren't forced to exit, they're just rerouted through different trading pairs.
