XRP could swing hard in August. Crypto analyst Jay Nisbett reckons the token has better odds moving up than down this month, with a potential sprint into the $2 range before a quick reversal.
The coin currently sits at $1.07, down 1% in the last day and 42% so far this year. Nisbett mapped out several paths the price might take, but his base case has volatility in both directions, with an overall bullish lean.
His most likely scenario pins XRP trading between $1.02 and the low-$1.30s for most of August. From there, it could either push into the mid-to-upper $1 range or even touch the low-$2 level. The catch, Nisbett warns, is that any spike to those higher prices would be fast and temporary. A rapid drop could follow before the bigger trend kicks back in.
Technical Levels and Price Targets
Nisbett relies on chart levels mapped with color-coded lines. White dotted lines mark the trend-balanced price, blue shows likely swing highs, and green marks likely swing lows. He sketched out four possible paths, though he suspects XRP will snake somewhere between them rather than follow one exact route.
One scenario has the token climbing to $2.50 before retreating. Another shows a more modest rise to around $1.60 with a subsequent pullback. From the current $1.07 level, these targets translate to potential gains ranging from roughly 50% to 134% for holders.
Beyond the technical setup, Nisbett points to psychology as another bullish factor. Many traders are camped out waiting for XRP to drop to $1.00 or lower, thinking that's the safest entry. If the price never dips that far, he argues, those cautious buyers could end up chasing the asset higher out of FOMO instead of getting their ideal entry point.
